  NASARAWA GOVERNMENT HOUSE PRESS STATEMENT I wish to congratulate the Muslim Ummah for the privilege of life and the opportunity to witness the commencement of the 2023 fasting of the month of Ramadan.Fasting in this holy month as instructed by the Islamic religion is one of the 5 pillars of Islam that prescribes abstinence, perseverance, show of love, and intense acts of worship.Inherent in the month are numerous blessings and rewards for those who will engage in this act of obedience honestly and with the fear of Allah. This year’s Ramadan fast coincides with the Lenten period by our Christian brothers and Sisters. In both, we are encouraged to reflect, be prayerful and maintain peace between all people.I wish to call on our people to rededicate themselves to peace and love for one another as enshrined in the holy books.We should also seize the moment of the fast to pray for our dear state and the country at large while as leaders we continue to work to tackle the many challenges confronting us.It is my fervent prayers that Allah SWT accept our acts of ibadat and grant us his many blessings.In all our dealings, especially those that involve our staple food items and other groceries, I urge all to show compassion by resisting the temptation to hike prices. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi has congratulated Muslims for witnessing the new mouth of Ramadan and successfully ushering in the Ramadan fasting.A statement by Press Secretary to the Speaker Jibrin Gwamna Quotes the Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi as describing the mouth as special and very significant among the Muslim communities hence the need to appreciate God and identify with each other for witnessing the holy mouth.The Nasarawa State Number Three Citizen enjoined Muslims to use the holy mouth to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed, pray for the State and the country at large to overcome its emerging challenges.Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi also called on well to do individuals in the society to use the period and support the less previleged ones among them to enable them observe the fasting with ease and have sense of belonging.Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi congratulated the entire Muslim communities in the State and beyond and wish them successful 2023 Ramadan fasting with aboundant blessings.
