A coalition of newly appointed staff at the College of Education (COE), Akwanga, under the banner of Eagles of Progress, has passionately called on Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to reappoint Dr. Jonathan Thani for a second term as provost of the institution.
Speaking to journalists in Lafia, the group’s leader, Comrade Idris Ahmad, commended Dr. Thani for his exemplary leadership and transformative impact during his first tenure. Ahmad highlighted the provost’s notable achievements, which include significant infrastructural development, staff capacity building, and the introduction of cutting-edge academic programs that have elevated the college’s standing both within and beyond the state.
“Dr. Thani is a beacon of hope and a visionary leader for COE Akwanga. His policies have greatly enhanced staff and student welfare, while also earning recognition from stakeholders. It is imperative to allow him to continue this momentum by granting him a second term,” Ahmad emphasized.
The group further urged the state government to uphold continuity in leadership, stressing that reappointing Dr. Thani would consolidate existing achievements and drive the institution towards greater heights.
In addition, support for Dr. Thani’s reappointment appears to be growing among the college’s staff and students, many of whom attribute the institution’s recent successes to his strategic reforms and unwavering dedication to excellence.
The call for a second term underscores the increasing acknowledgment of Dr. Thani’s pivotal role in transforming COE Akwanga into a center of academic distinction. As stakeholders await Governor Sule’s decision, the spotlight remains on his leadership to determine the future trajectory of the institution.
