Senator Umar Tanko Almakura, the former Governor of Nasarawa State
, extends his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and worldwide as they commemorate the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1446AH. The Hijrah, symbolizing Prophet Muhammad’s migration from Mecca to Medina, stands as a testament to faith, resilience, and commitment.
In his message, Senator Almakura emphasized the significance of this occasion, which celebrates values such as compassion, forgiveness, perseverance, and unity. He also conveyed his felicitations to the Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Dr. Sidi Bage (Rtd.), and Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer AA Sule, on this auspicious occasion.
Senator Almakura called on the Muslim Ummah globally to strengthen their relationship with Allah, follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, and remain dedicated to serving humanity. He highlighted the importance of fostering understanding, tolerance, and mutual respect to build a brighter future for Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
Additionally, he urged the people of Nasarawa State to support Governor AA Sule and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in their efforts to promote growth, unity, and development across the nation.
