Sarkin Nupe Emphasizes Peace as Crucial for Development During Traditional Title Conferral Ceremony

Peace has been described as a key component of meaningful development by Sarkin Nupe, Alhaji Mohamed Sidi AB Bello.

He made this statement while conferring traditional titles to some illustrious sons of Nupe at his palace in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State.

During the ceremony, the Sarkin Nupe emphasized the importance of peace for the progress and development of communities.

He noted that without peace, achieving meaningful development would be challenging.

He also prayed for peaceful coexistence among his subjects, the state, and the country at large.

A total of sixteen sons of Nupe were honored with traditional titles, recognizing their contributions to the community and the broader society.

The event underscored the significance of cultural heritage and the role of traditional leadership in fostering unity and development.

Those who graced the occasion included Onu of Igala, Yunusa Ibrahim; Moyin Lafia, Abdullahi Mukhtar Sidi; Sarkin Gabas and former Ambassador to Thailand, His Excellency, Umar Azores Suleiman; and Marafan Lafia, Abubakar Madaki Kaura, among many other dignitaries.

Earlier in the day, a one-year prayer and the commissioning of a mosque were held in honor of the late Sarkin Nupe, Alhaji Mohamed Baban Soro AB Bello.

This solemn event was a tribute to the former leader’s legacy and his contributions to the community.
