The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, has urged Nigerians to embrace inter-state marriage to foster national unity, peace, and cohesion.

The Speaker made the call during the wedding ceremony between Honorable Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, and his beloved wife, Princess Khadijat Abdulsalam Yakubu Mohammed, in Lokoja, Kogi State, today.

It is reported that HRH Alhaji Mohammed Umar Azaki, Ohinoyi Ogye of Toto LGA, represented the groom’s family, while Mal. Abdulkarim Mohammed stood in for the bride’s parents during the wedding.

Speaker Jatau urged Honorable Isimbabi to ensure justice among his three wives to sustain peace, unity, and progress in his family. He encouraged them to prioritize peace, love, unity, and effective communication for their marriage to thrive.

Congratulating Honorable Isimbabi and his new wife on their successful marriage, the Speaker prayed for God’s blessings upon their home.

“On behalf of myself, family, Principal Officers, members, and staff of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, I wish to congratulate Honorable Isimbabi and his new wife on their successful marriage. I also wish them a peaceful home and God’s favor and blessings,” he said.

The Speaker expressed appreciation to the Honorable Members for their turnout at the wedding, emphasizing its significance for the unity of the State House of Assembly. He also urged the people of the state to continue praying and supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration.

Additionally, several other dignitaries including Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, Hon. Luka Zhekaba, Hon. Ovey John, Hon. Suleiman Azara, Hon. Solomon Akwashiki, Hon. Peter Akwe, Hon. Larry Ven-Bawa, Hon. Abdullahi Sa’ad, and Hon. Aliyu Nana (Baba Ali) congratulated and wished Honorable Isimbabi and his new wife a fruitful married life. They advised them to embrace love, unity, peace, patience, and avoid interference in their marriage while praying for God’s blessings upon their union.

In response, Honorable Mohammed Garba Isimbabi expressed gratitude to God for making their dreams a reality and assured of justice within his family. He thanked the Speaker, Honorable Members, staff, traditional rulers, and other well-wishers for gracing the occasion, praying for their safe journeys back home.

The lawmaker also urged the people of Toto Local Government Area to remain calm, embrace peace, unity, and mutual respect regardless of their affiliations, while advocating for support for governments at all levels.

Presiding over the marriage rite in Lokoja, Kogi State, Malam Saleh Ibn Adam, Chief Imam of Ganaja Junction Central Mosque, Ohikwo Village, Kogi State, officiated the ceremony and pronounced Honorable Isimbabi and Princess Khadijat as husband and wife after the payment of N200,000 dowry.

Mal. Adam advised the couple to prioritize love, unity, peace, forgiveness, tolerance, and other virtues for a successful marriage.

The wedding also had notable attendees including Dr. Musa Ahmed Muhammed, the Nasarawa State Accountant General, represented by Hon. Ismail Danbaba, former member representing Nasarawa Central constituency at the State legislature, Arch. Mohammed Ja’afar Ibrahim, former House of Representatives member, and Honorable Members of Nasarawa and Kogi State House of Assemblies, politicians, traditional rulers, and other well-wishers.
