The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Mangu local Government area of Plateau state Hon. Markus Artu, on Monday August, 28 Played hots to a Delegation From the Ark Christian Aid, also know as (African Services).
The Ark Christian Aid Ministry, formerly known as Rainbow Christian Campis, is a non governmental organization with Members from Seven Countries of the World.
Peter Umaru -Assistant Country Manager Ark Christian Aid Ministry(Africa Services) who led the delegation to Mangu disclosed, that Ministry is a multi-service human rights agency dedicated to assisting immigrants, refugees, and asylees from across the world which also exists to glorify God providing Bible Based, Christ Centered, Discipleship and Mission Minded ways to reach and teach the next generation.
Mr Umaru, said the aim of their Visit is to commiserate with the entire people of Mangu over the unfortunate events of attacks and killings and to also access the humanitarian crisis in Mangu with the view to rebuilding destroyed communities for victims who are still traumatized and battling to survive at Various Internally displaced Persons Camps within the Council Area.
While responding, the Mangu Transition Implementation Committee Chairman Markus Artu, described the visit as a unique one considering the intention of the Organization.
Hon. Artu who also appreciated the Ark Christian Ministry for the show of love and concern they have displayed for the People of Mangu, assured the delegation of all the necessary support they need to help them achieve their Mission which he said is for the good of the people.
The TIC Chairman also disclosed, that there’s relative peace at the moment, with normalcy gradually returning to the affected communities and commended the steps taken by the state Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang towards ensuring that Peace has returned to not only Mangu, but other part of the state experiencing similar security issues.
He added, that the Governor is doing everything possible to ensure that those sacked from their communities during the attacks have returned home to continue with their means of lively hood as the Governor has equally directed the cultivation of over 900 hectares of farmland across three Local Government Areas of Mangu, Barkin-Ladi and Riyom in the state recently plagued by crisis.
The delegation from the Ark Christian Aid Ministry thereafter visited some affected communities for an on the spot assessment before departing the Council Area.
