The Plateau State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Euphraim Usman has challenged Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen (TIC) of the 17 LGAs of the state to key into the “The time is Now mantra of the present administration of Barr. Caleb Mutfwang to move the state to greater heights.
The Commissioner who met the 17 Transition Management Committee Chairmen at the Ministry for the first time since his assumption after swearing-in as member of the State Executive Council said he is ready to work with them only if they key into the vision and mission of the Executive Governor in rebuilding Plateau State.
Recall that Governor Caleb Mutfwang has recently sworn in new commissioners to take charge of their various Ministries and charging them to hit the ground running and key into his mission and vision of repositioning the state to make it enviable for all and to also ensure accountability and good governance at the grass root level.
5he Commissioner earlier stated that the meeting with TIC chairmen is to discuss ways and how to reposition Plateau state stressing that the TIC chairmen are carefully selected knowing fully well that they are not strangers in the state.
“The vision and mission of Governor Caleb Mutfwang must be achieved collectively. We will ensure we deliver the mission statement of his administration. We can not afford to derail and go contrary.
“The time is now to bring innovation and work for the benefit of the people of Plateau, we must brace up for the challenge ahead.” He said.
Responding on behalf of the TIC chairmen, Hon. Daniel Kurmi of Mikang local government council assured the commissioner that they would surprise the people of the state by making sure they delivered projects that are critical and people-driven.
He pointed out that they will cooperate with the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to drive the mission and vision of His Excellency Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and bring it to reality for the growth and development of Plateau state.
The Commissioner who was also in receive of his kinsmen, the leadership of the Boghom Development Association led by the President Mr. Yohanna Bawa on a courtesy call urged them to support the present administration in other to make good the gains of democracy especially at the grassroots level.
The President earlier said they were in his office to congratulate him on his appointment and to encourage him to be a good ambassador of the Boghom nation.
He assured the Commissioner of their unflinching support for him to succeed in the task bestowed on him by the Executive Governor of Plateau State Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
