Margif who is also the National President of the Farmers Armadillos Guards Alliance FAGA, disclosed that the decision by ECOWAS to adopt military option instead of dialogue would have jeopardize the lives and livelihood of Nigerians who share border with Niger.
He explained that Nigeria and Niger have coexisted peacefully for more than a decade as brothers and sisters noting and anything that will see them carry arms against each other instead of resorting to dialogue and reconciliation in resolving their differences, will not be a good idea.
The former governorship aspirant while commending the Niger military junta for accepting to dialogue with the regional bloc to resolve the issue, observed that what happened in Niger, if not nib in the bud , can repeat itself in other parts of the continental.
” I commend President Tinubu for having a second thought over the military action in Niger by toying the path of dialogue and peaceful means instead of resorting to war which would have resulted into bloodshed” Margif opined.
” I equally praised the resilience and tenacity of the Bala Lau Muslim cleric for taking the initiative. It’s only leaders who have their people at heart can take this kind risk” he said.
The Peace Ambassador advised President Tinubu to use the Muslim emissaries and add some Christian leaders among them to address the farmer herder crisis in Plateau , Benue, Taraba, Niger, Katsina, Zamfara States as well as the IPOB insurrection and Boko Haram insurgency.
He added that the ability of the Bala Zau led team of Muslim cleric to interface with the Niger military junta which saw the softening of their hard stance on ECOWAS is a pointer to the fact that Nigerians can resolve their differences together without external influence.
