The Chief Imam of Toto Central Mosque, Mallam Mohammed Umar, has admonished Muslims to live lives worthy of emulations to avoid punishment of God after death.

He made the call during the three days prayer of Late Gomo Babye, HRH Alh Aliyu Baba Daudu, held at his palace in Gadabuke, Toto Local Government Area today Thursday.

Recalled that on Monday this week, Gade community of Gadabuke Development Area was thrown into mournful mood over the death of their first class traditional ruler, Gomo Babye, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Daudu.

Leading the three days prayer, the Chief Imam of Toto Central Mosque, Mallam Mohammed Umar, alongside other clerics, enjoined Muslims to see the death of the traditional ruler as an act of God, advising them to continue praying for the repose of his soul.



He emphasized the need for all to live a life worthy of emulation to have peace at death.

Emir of Lafia and Chairman, Nasarawa State Traditional Council of Chiefs, Justice Sidi Bage Mohammed ( rtd), who spoke through the Emir of Nasarawa HRH Alh Ibrahim Usman Jibrin, described the late monarch as a friend to all irrespective of differences, urging people to always be ready as death can come anytime.

“The Nasarawa state traditional council will miss the contributions of late Gomo Babye, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Daudu,” he said.

The Ohimege Opanda, Umaisha HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi disclosed that Aliyu Baba Daudu fought for the unity of Gade and other tribes, saying the loss was not only for the Gade people but the entire state.

Earlier, Chairman, Toto Local Government Area Hon Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, said the vacuum created as a result of the death of their longest serving traditional ruler would be difficult to fill considering his leadership style while alive.

The Gomo Babye, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Daudu died on Monday, 25 July, 2023 at the Federal Medical Centre Keffi as a result of prolonged illness, and left behind three Wives, Children and many relations.
