I congratulate Rt. Hon. Balarabe Abdullahi Ibrahim (APC) on his successful re-election as Speaker of the 7th Assembly in Nasarawa State, and equally felicitate with the newly elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Hon Abel Yakubu Bala (PDP) and other House Members on their successful inauguration. May God grant you all the enablement to live up to expectations and justify the confidence reposed on you all by your constituents and the entire people of Nasarawa State in delivering on your mandates, especially in this harsh economic situation. The state expects so much from the 7th Assembly and it is my earnest desire that this resolution engenders peace and development in Nasarawa State.

While I wish to specially commend His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and other critical stakeholders within and outside the State for yielding to the voice of reason in brokering peace between the two warring factions of the Assembly, which has culminated into the final resolution of the crisis. I equally salute the rare courage and spirit of patriotism and sportsmanship of Hon. Daniel Ogah Ogazi and his group, for defending democracy and giving room for development to thrive in the state. I dare say that history will judge you right and you remain heroes of Democracy, as there’s no Victor, No Vanquish.

I am aware that a lot of persons have misinterpreted my position on the Assembly crisis. However, I wish to state clearly that posterity will judge us all fairly, as I do not have enemies to fight. It is heart-warming to note that the fresh conduct of the elections and inauguration irrespective of who wins, justified the position I have been canvassing since the crisis erupted. I am therefore fulfilled that the rule of law finally prevailed. I do hope that a lot of lessons have been learnt and the key players in democracy will be guided going forward.

As an advocate for true democracy and due process, I shall continually speak in defence of democracy and that which is right. This I believe will deepen Democracy and Rule of Law.

Congratulations once again, and may God bless and prosper Nasarawa State.
