Yusuf Turaki: institute graduates 20 maiden set

The Yusuf Turaki Institute of Philosophy, Science and Theology Jos has graduated its maiden sets of Masters Students.

The event which held on Saturday in Jos was themed “Knowledge, Wisdom and Truth:Pillars of Transformational Leadership”, it saw 20 graduands off with Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Executive Education (Ex.Ed).

Our Correspondent reports that Yusuf Turaki Foundation is a non for profit organisation established by Prof. Yusuf Turaki with the aim to promote education,it runs professional academic programmes in leadership, management, theology and ethics.

While addressing the graduands, Prof. Danny McCain, Guest speaker at the event admonished them to use the knowledge gained to draw people to the knowledge of God.

“They should be seeking knowledge, it never ends, they should be developing wisdom and how to use the knowledge they have gained.

“They should engage the church, engage the society and they should also use their knowledge and wisdom to bring people to God and make the world a better place” he said
.
Similarly, Prof Turaki, Chief Executive of the Institution while expressing delight at the progress made on the occasion of the graduation,called on the students to reflect what they have learnt to the society and the church.

“Well I feel great, this is something that started so small, I didnt know it will become something like this, something we started just on a casual note but it is now being formalised.

“I can now see that this Foundation is going to grow and become big.

“For the students, they have a learnt so much, they can now take what they have learnt and use it to transform the society and the church” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the graduands, Pastor Hankuri Gaya,Chairman Planning Committee for the event thanked the schools administration for ensuring that their quest for knowledge and values had materialised.

He admonished his colleagues to imbibe the ethics and values they have been impacted with during their time of learning at the institution.

“As you step into the world as graduates of this distinguished Institute and mentees of Prof. Turaki, I implore each one of us to embrace the values and principles that we have imbibed here.

“Let the wisdom we have acquired guide our actions and decisions, enabling us to lead with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to the greater good” he said.

Some of the graduands include Mr Mancha Dominic, Mr Bonlu Yakubu, Mrs Hauwa Madi , Mr Kavwam Augustine, Grace Solomon, Ms Veronica David among others.
