A Police Inspector serving with the Niger State Police Command Gbenga Fajuyi, has bceen sentenced to a total term of twenty two years behind the Correctional Centre by a Minna Senior Magistrate Court 4 for pregnating his thirteen years old daughter.

The court presided by Senior Magistrate Christy Barau while passing her judgement described the convict as a monster who as a police officer and law enforcement officer that suppose to protect the little girl end up in puting her in adulthood.

He was found guilty of three count charges of unlawful sexual intercourse, incest impregnating a female student and criminal intimidation.

According to the police prosecutor Inspector Lawrence Owette, the three count charges contravened section 18 (2) of Niger State child right law 2010, section 390 25 (3) and 397 B of the penal code.

The police first Information Report (FIR), marked SMC/MN),CR/06/2023 which was made available in court and obtained by the eagle eye, stated that Gbenga Fajuyi age 47, that some time in 2019, in Ungwan Nasarawa area of Tafa local government lured his biological daughter a student of Government Day Secondary School Sabon-Wuse an SS one class in to his room and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

” As a result she was put in to family way and delivered a baby girl and warned her if she tell anybody you will kill her.
” During police Investigation, you Gbenga Fajuyi confessed to the commission of the offence. After delivery he took the new born baby to a nearby river and strangulated the baby to death”.

When the charges was read to him by the Presiding senior Magistrate Christy Barau he pleaded guilty to the charges, but the the court turned the no guilty and told the police Prosecutor that inview of the serious nature of the offence, the court will commence full trial into the case .

She requested the police Prosecutor to prove his case and bring along his witnesses and evidences to enable the court arrive at given him the maximum punishment in accordance to the offences he commuted.

During the trial, the prosecutor called the investigating police officer, the mother of the girl and the girl who gave the vivid pictures of how her father had sexual intercourse with her at twelve years Until he impregnated her at thirteen years of age.

Passing her judgement, senior Magistrate Christy Barau described the police inspector as a monster and a disgrace to the police.

” This is sad that this convict who is a police officer and law enforcement officer saddled with the responsibility of protecting life and property or fighting crime in the society one would expect him to go extral mile to protect his own family.
” But he could be this inhuman toward his own biological daughter a little girl by puting her through all these horrible experience and having to give such at such tender age forced her into becoming an adult denying her of child hood.

” Not only her father failed her equally, her mother did. As a mother she could not dectect that something was wrong with her daughter Until the daughter was close to her full time of pregnancy.

“One can imagine the psychological torture this girl went through with no one to come to her rescue not even the mother who is expected to share a special bond with her children she eventually left them in the cruel hand of a monster. They all rejected next not raise children” she submitted.

Christy Barau, while sentencing him she pronounced that he is to spend the next twenty two years imprisonment without an option of find and the sentence is to run consecutively..
