NSUBEB: PHYSICAL PLANNING DEPARTMENT BLOWS ITS TRUMPET.

Not long ago, the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi ( Barayan Daddare) in line with edict 1996 and in accordance with provision of Decree of 96 of August, 1993 created a new Department to be called Physical Planning Department from the latter works unit to re- Engineer the personnel towards greater performance.

No gainsaying the fact that, the newly appointed had performed marvelously well during and while the Department was unit, which prompted their appointment to continue with good works of turning around the fortune of Basic Education in Nasarawa State.

To this end, the youthful energetic and experienced creme of professionals were appointed on merit as well as to support the Executive Chairman in the re- engineering process.


It was predicated on this premise that the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, had appointed the following personnel to manned the Development; Engineer Muhammad Shu’aibu Lakpa,as Director, Umar Salisu Bature to serve as Deputy Director while Kabiru Ibrahim, Assistant Director in that order.

Because of the daunting challenge and gargantuan task before them of turning despair into hope and that revitalising decayed structures and constructing new ones, the Local Government and Development Education Authorities, Technical Officers were also in the process.

Works unit now Physical Planning Department is one of the key Departments under the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board. The Department is saddled with the Responsibility of Execution and supervision of projects of the Board ranging from construction and rehabilitation of schools, classrooms and toilets among others.

Another critical roles of the Physical Planning Department, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, is ensuring that boreholes are sunk in schools with a view to providing Pupils with portable drinking water.

The performance of Board in areas related to functions of Physical Planning Department is there for everyone to see in all parts of Nasarawa State.

Under UBEC/SUBEB 2016 UBE intervention( 3rd and 4th Quarter) to 2022 projects, the Physical Planning Department has successfully completed the construction of 1,070 blocks of 2,3,4 and Storey Building of classrooms and Office which translated 2,437 classrooms across the state.

Similarly, 54,979 furnitures were distributed to Basic Education School.The edifice of St- Williams Primary School Lafia was completed.

Currently, going on under the care of this Department is a massive rehabilitations project under which toilets, perimeter fence, landscaping road and drainage are at various levels of completion.

The Physical Planning Department give details distribution of projects and other infrastructures to Local Government Areas in Nasarawa State.

Worth of note is the untire less commitment being put together by the man at the helm of affairs at the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board in person of Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi ( Barayan Daddare ), the Executive Chairman of the Board who directly facilitated these construction, renovation and other infrastructures in the State.

After all ” Education For All is the Responsibility of All “.
