The Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC) Abuja, Monday flagged -off distribution of sporting facilities and items for UBE schools utilising the 2020/2021 Matching Grant at the Board Headquarters.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Board Public Relation Officer (PRO),Gana Lawal Ahmed

Speaking during the distribution ceremony, Executive Chairman, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Muhammad Musa Dan’azimi( Barayan Daddare), said sports Development in Primary School is vital in harnessing talents in learners. Represented by the Director, Academic Services, Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. James Tuwo Aguma.

He charged all Education Secretaries to make sure the equipments get to the selected schools and are also judiciously use for the purpose for which they are meant to serve. He advised the benefitting schools to use the items properly.

He further explained that the distribution is a continuous exercise that will ensure all schools are equipped subsequently.

Responding on behalf of the Education Secretaries, Mal.Muhammad Otaki Sule, of Keana Local Government Education Authority, lauded the Universal Basic Education Commission( UBEC), Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board and the resolve of Nasarawa State Government to revive primary school sports and pledged to take proper care of the items.

A total of 54 Basic Schools are to benefit from this intervention.

The items distributed include; Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Badminton, Discuss disc, Shot put to mention but a few.
