Former Nasarawa State Governor, and Senator representing Southern Senatorial District, Umaru Tanko Almakura has called on the politicians and those in leadership positions in Nasarawa State not to fail the people by reducing their offices to ethnic consideration.
Speaking during an indoor gathering in honuor of the Senator in his personal residence in Lafia the State capital, the senator noted that engaging in ethnicity amounts to betraying their oath of office.
“Senator Almakura urged them all to protect every citizen in the state irrespective of tribe or religion, reminding them that their oath of office is to protect every citizen in the state”.
The Senator, therefore, called on those in notable key positions in the state to add value to their administrations and tenures by assisting each other and their principal the governor of the State Engr AA Sule in ensuring that the entire Nassarawa State have the confidence of the administration.
“Assist the governor achieve success by ensuring that the people in your individual domains have confidence in your administrations and also carry every section of the communities and the society along,” Sen. Almakura added.
“On his part again Senator Umar Tanko Al-Makura urged all leaders to uphold the oath of office he or she swore by having the interest of the state at heart, saying that unity is the strength of every community”.
“He said that public office is a trust that must be devoid of ethnic coloration”.
“Doma is very strategic in the politics of the state which is why Aliyu Doma was a governor from the local government after the administration of Abdullahi Adamu and now a Doma son is the deputy governor after my administration,” Mr Al-Makura stressed.
He then further extolled the good virtues of the deputy governor.
While thanking the people for finding them Worthy to lead them.
